A New Chapter for Hotel La Neige: Renewed and Refined

Big things are happening at Hotel La Neige. Now proudly managed by Hakuba Hospitality Group, the iconic hotel is entering an exciting new chapter. Hotel La Neige (formerly known as La Neige Higashikan) has been rebranded Hotel La Neige and will undergo a full renewal this autumn reopening its doors in December.

What’s coming exactly? A stylish new American cocktail bar, a fully renovated lobby and restaurant, and upgraded amenities, and refreshed guest rooms. But don’t worry, the signature touches that have made La Neige legendary are only getting better.

Revitalized, Not Rewritten

Changes are coming to Hotel La Neige — but its soul will remain untouched. The entire first floor of the hotel will undergo a full renovation, including the dining room, lobby, bar, and kitchen. While the spaces themselves are being reimagined for comfort and function, the building’s original spirit — a Frank Lloyd Wright–inspired architectural gem — will stay at the heart of it all. It’s a careful balance of honoring legacy while updating the essentials for a new era of hospitality. Seen below is Hotel La Neige followed by Wright’s famous prairie house style works including the Dana-Thomas House, Darwin Martin House, and Frederick Robie House.

Lloyd’s Bar

Lloyd’s Bar pays tribute to Frank Lloyd Wright with a cocktail menu inspired by his travels, love of nature, and timeless style. Expect creative takes on classic cocktails, seasonal ingredients, and well-balanced drinks crafted with care.

Surrounded by vintage photos of Hotel La Neige and Wright’s iconic works, there’ll be no shortage of topics to discuss and conversations to engage in.

In-House Fine Dining

At Hotel La Neige’s restaurant, the approach to food is refreshingly simple: let the season and the region speak for themselves. With aspirations toward Michelin-level dining, the Chef de Cuisine and team craft meals inspired by the natural beauty of Shinshu and its surroundings.

Menus shift with the seasons, highlighting locally sourced ingredients—from crisp mountain vegetables in spring to earthy mushrooms and herbs in autumn—all brought together with refined French technique and a strong nod to Japanese seasonality. Each set course is a thoughtful progression that reflects both the local landscape and a commitment to exceptional flavor.
